Talbot Street community flood plan

This community flood plan has been established for some years as the street was affected by flooding in 1979. It covers the western part of the road between Kings Road and Ryder Street. It is focussed mainly on avoiding surface water flooding. Residents make sure the drainage covers (gullies) in the road are clear and not blocked with leaves and other detritus. This allows any rainfall to drain away quickly and not pond in the road and on pavements. The ‘Big Sweep’ annual clearance of leaves by residents with the Council originated in this street.
